The course selected for study should be relevant to one’s interests and abilities. It is very important to choose only the relevant course in today’s hyper-competitive and specialized environment in the job market. It is the consideration behind my selection for the course of BSc (Hons) in community development and leadership of the London Metropolitan University. I have experience and previous study that is relevant to this course.
Since my arrival in the UK in 2004 on a student visa, I have been working in the field of childcare. To be specific, I worked in the Dorset community nursery from May 2005 to July 2006. Later, I continued attaining education in the childcare and education field as I took admission in the certificate that was equivalent to level 2 in September 2005. I went further for a diploma in childcare and education, but the college had some issues. Therefore, I could not get my results and you can verify as well. Then, I decided to continue my degree; then, I had to return to Nigeria for some family business work. This experience and past academic qualifications are enough to show that I am altruistic and love the field of helping others. I have experience of working in this field or studying in a course related to it. It is because of the clear reason that I love to help others and support different charity organisations. I also have experience of working at Smart Start Nursery at 55 Tower Bridge Road, Bermondsey, London SEI 4TL from October 2006 to November 2007. This brief introduction reveals my passion for community development and leadership. The BSc (Hons) degree would help me to achieve my dream career.
London Metropolitan University is a renowned name in education, and I will get enough aid and support to start and continue my career after attaining a degree from here. It is very easy to know here in the UK that society is giving value to health and social care. The field of community development is going to expand and rise because of this emphasis. Therefore, I make it an opportunity that is linked to my aptitude. The course and the university are the best options for me to take this decision with confidence. I would be able to fill the gap in my education to pursue a strong career in the field of my interest. It is a valid reason why I have chosen the course and the university. You can realise the strategic importance of my choice and hope to allow me to be a successful person in the relevant field.
The above details have demonstrated my suitability and interest in the course. It shows that community development and helping others are my aptitude since the beginning of my practice part of my life. Equipping such people with the latest knowledge and latest degree would help the social care and community development field to have assistance and help from genuine human resources and workers. I have this strategic benefit in mind that I would be much more competitive and eligible to serve the role in the field. London Metropolitan University is not an ordinary name among educational institutions. A degree from the university would give me an incredible head start in the future. It is my confidence and trust in my abilities and future ambitions that I would prove to me. I have to prove that I have chosen this field because of my natural tendency to help others. It is not easy to develop this nature unless one is intrinsically motivated for it. I am the one that has such motivation, and I am eyeing a positive response from you.
Now, I would like to broaden my approach here. My objectives and future ambitions are clear from the above description. I want to draw your attention to the dire need for people working for others. I have been living in the UK since 2004 with some visits to Nigeria. I know society’s concerns for activities and efforts to assist and help others. The health and social care field are to grow in the future and a diverse workforce would better do this job. If London Metropolitan University gives me admission into the course, it would directly support the sector. It would directly assist hundreds of UK citizens in the future who would be in serious need of care. I think in this way because my objectives may look subjective and may not appeal to you. Although I have depicted earlier that my past shows dedication in the field so, I am a perfect candidate for the chosen field. Simultaneously, I want to relate to the broader environment as well and invite your attention to decide from such a broader perspective.
