It is a great opportunity to reflect on my strengths and weaknesses, along with steps to address them in the future. I would also be able to have a say in the progress of the academic preparation module. I have used some headings to write this reflection as follows:
My Strengths and Weaknesses:
My strengths are some unique that was with me even before his module. For instance, reading between the lines, analytical skills, collaborating ideas with others, and taking decisions. I like these attributes, and they also represent my strengths. However, my strengths have been to be stubborn on some occasions. It is usually the moment when two different options have equal advantages and rational thinking behind them. I started arguing about such moments and wasted my precious time. Another notable weakness is being too obsessive while getting knowledge and collecting information. However, this academic preparation module has helped me to progress towards furnishing my strengths and overcoming weaknesses (Chaita, 2016).
My Progress on the Academic Preparation Module:
During the academic preparation module, I came to know how to be focused and concentrated on getting knowledge and information gathering process. Earlier, I used to read and gather information, but that was because of my interest. After starting the module, I got the opportunity to meet deadlines and be disciplined. I learned that accomplishment is a good thing, but it should be effective when it delivers desired results. For instance, the module has a set of deadlines and clear guidelines to follow. Activities and course material have deadlines with them. As a result, I had to meet deadlines. Moreover, I got an enhanced chance of collaboration when my peers would discuss during in-class participation. We also communicated outside of the class, and I got the opportunity to share my views with them. It enhanced my decision-making skills. I am very pleased to reveal that my stubborn nature has started to decline. I started to embrace the reality that there was not one truth in society. When I studied the module and knew that many great scholars have said different things and presented different perspectives on the same issue or problem. It helped me to respect each other. The module also led me to read new things, especially those which were not my primary interest. It enhanced my communication skills and tendency to collaborate. As a result, I became a more furnished and perfect individual. This success won more friends for me because I became more accommodating (Genzic, 2014).
My Achievements:
During the module, I achieved skills concerning interpersonal, communication, and accommodating others. My achievements are very specific. For instance, I have become broader and more flexible in my approach. I have started to view things from different perspectives. It is the result of the tendency to make friends and having a constructive discussion with them. It is a very pleasant and confident feeling to share ideas and views with others and embrace others’ views and perspectives. It is the society that I have been dreaming of. This is the achievement that I have learned how to coexist with different perspectives. This achievement has overcome my stubborn nature, and my pool of knowledge and friend circle has become more diverse. It has also helped to overcome my obsessive nature.
Steps, I will take to Address Weaknesses for Improvement in Future:
Still, there are some weaknesses. For instance, I like to take decision-making power in my hand, and I like to concentrate on matters very much. It wastes my time, and I would say that I have just found improvements in these weaknesses. Overall, they exist on some scale in my personality. Being too obsessive is the result of my perfectionist attitude. I like to reach conclusions with the perfect approach. Being obsessive helps me to be cautious about reaching a position that is not challenging at all. It also caused some frustrations with friends. For improvement to overcome these weaknesses I must keep the learning and progress stage going that has started (Cheng and Chau, 2016). I have mentioned above that I have improved my weaknesses. I am not open to others’ opinions and like to make a diverse range of friends. I have to keep making friends and my perfectionist attitude should also continue. I should keep obsessing and arguing with others. The only thing I have to realise is to admit no one is perfect. I am not perfect, and others are not all faulty. I have to share my views and listen to others (Hurd and Plaut, 2018). As a result, my leadership, communication, and decision-making skills would keep growing into the future.
