Introduction

A teacher has to adopt an appropriate leadership style in the class to depict the right path and maintain control on student progress. Being a Pre-School Teacher, I would like to initiate the Preschool Free Play Program for kids. Through Democratic Leadership Style, I can meet objectives effectively. The study revolves around the rationale of this initiative, possible influence on kids and some key benefits of choosing the democratic leadership style.

Leadership Style to Lead Physical Activity (Free Play)

Conducting a physical activity for preschoolers is necessary, as it can increase the learning capacity.  I have idealized a physical activity, which can increase the kid’s responsiveness.  Before enrolling in the school, free play is a useful physical activity, which can also streamline and improve the physical strength of kids or preschoolers. The most important thing for students is to increase their learning capacity and prepare themselves to become active in the early years. Free play can enhance the social skills of children. Free play programs include crawling through boxes, making mud houses, chasing others, and running.  Both physical and social skills can be increased, and these are extended benefits (Frunz, 2014).

Participative or democratic leadership style can help me to lead this physical activity for preschoolers. For Instance, I can participate in these free play activities. I will follow the children when running and chasing different things.  It refers to following the idea of each child to meet their goals and objectives. However, being a democratic leader, I can only show a path or direction.  By providing them an appropriate environment, I can follow these kids, and it is the best way to lead this activity (Male & Palaiologou, 2016).

Democratic leadership style is entirely different from the transformational leadership approach. I cannot make kids identify or make changes frequently. Through a democratic leadership style, I can derive the strengths and weakness of children, and accordingly, I can help them develop abilities or skills. For Instance, being a democratic leader, I can integrate with the reinforcement theory of motivation. I can lead this activity by streamlining positive or favorable consequences. It is a fact that the democratic leadership style can help me to drive creativity as well. In this preschool physical activity, I can provide an environment for kids to use their ideas. I can encourage kids to create innovative ideas and guide them towards improvements. On the other hand, kids or preschoolers, who are not good in creative thinking, can lead through participation. Thus, this leadership style is always a roadmap for me and preschoolers to enhance our abilities (Drobot & Rosu, 2012).

Conclusion

In the end, it is to conclude that a democratic leadership style if effective and helpful in running preschool Free Play program. However, positive reinforcement is key to drive the behavior of kids and prepare them before entering school.  Being a leader, I am quite happy and satisfied with my approach, as it is the only way to work with these students and enhance the visibility of the development process.
