Relevant Acts/Laws/Procedures Related to Workplace

Question: Rights and Expectations in light of Relevant Acts/Laws/Procedures at Workplace

Under the scenario of discrimination and non-inclusiveness, relevant acts, laws, and procedures at McDonald give rise to rights and expectations. Discrimination based on any aspect including gender is discouraged at the company (Sex Discrimination Act, 1984). It is right of every employee under the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights that he gets fair and equal treatment (Anti-Discrimination Act, 1977). McDonald’s also has procedures to treat and employ every employee equally. Based on it, I expect that these acts, laws, and procedures would offer an inclusive environment for me (McDonald, 2016).

Question: Solution to Non-inclusiveness under relevant Acts/Laws/Procedures

McDonald’s has clear procedures in place to ensure inclusiveness at the workplace. Equal opportunity employment and fair treatment are also protected under the law. The law does not support discrimination based on race, color, age, or any other attribute. Especially, discrimination based on sex is not allowed (Wgea.gov, 2012). Therefore, abiding by-laws acts, and procedures can solve non-inclusiveness in the workplace. Safety rules are also helpful in this regard. Moreover, developments into rights of employees must take place (McDonalds, 2016).

Question: Future hopes to make the workplace more Inclusive

Based on acts, laws, and procedures, many changes have taken place in the workplace like culture has become more inclusive, and there are minimal biases and discrimination. However, incidents of discrimination still happen, and the legislation ensures that there should be fair work conditions under the Fair Work Act, 2009 (Legislation.gov, 2009). I hope that McDonald’s as the workplace under consideration will keep progressing towards becoming a more inclusive workplace to work. It is the need to stick to the laws and procedures valuing human rights in the workplace. Continuous improvements must take place (McDonald’s.com, 2017).
