Assessment 1 Part A: Reflection

I completed the test from the website of the Clifton Strengths Finder Assessment, and I came to know about my strengths and future action plan based on them. This test has been an opportunity for self-development as a leader, and it has given me self-awareness as well. This reflection has helped me to learn and develop myself. Thus, this reflection would focus on this aspect of self-development and continuous learning, as well.

Self-Development as a Leader to Build Self-awareness:

The test has given me the opportunity for self-development. Self-development helps a leader to develop his expertise and furnish his strengths. I have also gained insight into my personality and leadership expertise through this activity. Self-development is linked with self-awareness, where both qualities work to reinforce each other. Development can be possible if someone has knowledge and awareness. It is further essential for a leader who may not be dependent on any other. He has to choose his path independently, and it is possible through self-development only.

I have become more aware of test results, and scores on leadership strengths have helped me to note that I possess specific leadership qualities. Research evidence also supports that self-development is a meaningful and effective way to know about their personality (Ardelt and Grunwald, 2018). I can look into my deficiencies and weaknesses, as well. Due to this, I can rectify those weaknesses and weaknesses to become a real and effective leader. Moreover, I would like to say that a good leader has to spread the self-development concept to his followers as well. I have a firm belief that a leader should gain more knowledge and information to decide effectively, and similar activities enhance experience and information extensively (Flavian, 2016).

The technique of Reflective and Reflexive Practice for Continuous Learning and Self-Development:

The personality and leadership test helps in self-development and self-awareness. Moreover, this activity is reflective and reflexive practice. I am reflecting on myself and my attributes, and along with this reflection, I am getting more knowledge about myself (Ardelt and Grunwald, 2018). It has given me a chance to learn continuously. Here as well, the role of self-development is associated with continuous learning. Reflection makes me the center of attention, and I discuss myself. It is a common practice, and it is worthwhile, as well. Unlike getting quantitative scores, reflection takes a descriptive approach. This approach has helped me to look into myself critically (Helyer, 2015). Thus, I can have a kind of third-party view about myself. Reflective practice is effective for self-learning and development. Exercise for self-development may help a person very much.

Conclusion:

This assessment of me concludes that the self-development of a leader is very important and productive as I have done so in the strength test. I got an awareness and knowledge through this practice of self-development. Furthermore, I indulged myself in this reflective practice, which increased my understanding of me. Thus, it has enabled me to ensure continuous learning through self-development.
