An American actress, Gwyneth Paltrow, is the daughter of the producer named Bruce Paltrow and the popular actress named Blythe Danner. She began her acting career as a child. Her father belonged to a Jewish family, and her mother was from a German background. Gwyneth Paltrow’s made her acting debut at the age of 5 in a theatre play. The idea behind this application was to take the agenda of the company ‘Goop’ that is owned by Gwyneth Paltrow to another level. She is a traveler herself and loves to eat and explore. So, she decided to make an application for the travelers so they can visit the top places recommended by her with regards to food, beauty, or whatever they are looking for. She originally added a guide about three cities in the application that were London, New York, and Los Angeles because they were closest to her heart (Apple Podcasts Preview).

MICRO REVIEW:

Gwyneth Paltrow thinks that it is important for travelers to have a trusted version of guide about the places that they are planning to visit because the Internet is kind of a black hole. There is too much information present here that it kind of sometimes misguides people. You do not know who to trust and who to not. You never know who has a similar taste to you on the internet because there are so many people giving reviews and recommendations. So, one must visit the places and try out the food recommended by someone they trust. All the recommendations presented in this application are given by Gwyneth Paltrow herself. The World knows that she is a big foodie and curious enough to travel and explore new things. Even if you do not know that nobody forces you to purchase the application. So, in a nutshell, if a user wants to visit their favorite celebrity’s choice of places and want to eat her kind of food; they can buy the app and follow her guide (Donna).

MACRO VIEW:

I believe Gwyneth Paltrow is right about following a guide that one trusts when traveling to new places. This is actually true in today’s world because a new concept of sponsored reviews has taken birth in this era. However, there are plenty of websites, platforms and social media pages available, especially for this purpose as to review and recommend places to other people, but at the same time, restaurants and cafes pay food bloggers to write good reviews about them and initiate hype. This is the reason that one cannot trust a review present on the internet these days. You must visit a place or try new food recommended by someone you know or someone you trust or your whole money may go in vain. Along with sponsored reviews, fake reviews are often also seen to be present on such platforms which are mostly given by the owners of some fake profiles that usually belong to someone related to the restaurant. Thus, it is very easy to misguide at such times. Therefore, such guide apps can prove to be very beneficial for travelers, and there must be more and more cities added to it.
